Meet Chad, Founder & CEO of Chizzo Management

At the early age of five-years-old, Chad recalls his love for music. Listening to the radio, looking at MTV & BET (back when they were mostly music channels). In school, he would be at the table with friends, and classmates, making beats with their hands during lunch. The love of making beats resulted in mixing recent hip-hop songs with original beats that were thought of on the spot. Eventually, to test one another, they would only make original beats. Little did Chad know at the time that this would be the gateway into his love for music.

The 90s had so many genres to listen to, this was a great time to fall in love with music. Although Chad was not considered a fan of rock or deep pop, Nirvana ¨Smells like Teen Spirit,¨ had become a favorite tune. Love for classic music came from riding with an uncle, all the time. “My uncle would play all the hits from the 60’s to the early 90’s (hip-hop and R&B). Music would begin to speak to me through its words and message, which led to expanding to different genres and listening to pop with the likes of NSync and the Spice Girls.”

After gaining the nickname, ¨Old School¨when it came to listening to music, Chad knew he was well beyond his time. He knew what they were talking about hearing the message in their song and it reached him on a different level.  It gave him an understanding and influence on love, pain, struggle, heartache, and culture before he was even old enough to experience half of the lyrics. Hearing “My Adidas¨ by Run-DMC, Earth Wind & Fire ¨September¨, Maze & Frankie Beverly ¨Before I let you go¨, The Notorious B.I.G ¨Juicy¨, Tupac ¨Keep Your Head Up¨, and Brandy ¨Have you Ever¨ places him into the emotions and scenarios of those songs. Chad feels that music helped mold him into the person he is today understanding a lot from the lyrics.

With that, it sparked creativity in his head. He shared that he would have constant thoughts about something whether it was about what was going on in the world, what had happened to him or what was in his imagination.

“Once I come to know someone, I would be comfortable to talk about a lot.”

As he matured, Chad felt that he could pretty much talk about anything without fear. Sometimes it was hard to find anyone that was as comfortable with exploring different subjects. The dream of wanting to own and run a company started back in his teenage years. Chad knew he wanted to own and run a company and it didn’t take him long to know what type of business he wanted to create. Chad started with a few projects ranging from producing, to thinking about starting a label until he found his true start which is managing. Chizzo Management started with its first solo artist, Friday Love. Through Chizzo Management, Chad also co-host the podcast Let’s Talk About X with LuvMi. Growth is always something Chizzo Management will continue to do.
